Hello!
I can say I love my work.
Through teaching the Simply Music way, the student experiences a win in each lesson. In a short time, students learn to play blues, classical, and accompaniments.
I have been teaching piano for over 20 years, as well as writing concert and film music. Now that I teach Simply Music, I realize how limiting traditional teaching is. My epiphany came when I realized that almost every really good player that I know will not play piano in front of anyone. What a shame this is considering that a musician must have played and read hundreds of thousands of notes, and, after all, there are only 12 notes!
The reading program is so much more advanced than what I used to teach. It is quite thorough and does not begin in the first months of playing as the students get their connection to the instrument.
I studied piano starting at age seven, and played saxaphone, organ, and voice. My family all played more than one instrument. Later I studied composition, arranging and film scoring. I am teaching full-time now and love it!
