About The Teacher
I attended private piano lessons (the Traditional way)and attained Grade 6 through the Royal Conservatory of Canada although I continued to study beyond Grade 8 without the final exams.
Teaching music was actually my very first job, at the age of 12! I was the Assistant Music Director for a local Bible Camp (not my own faith). Where I learned a variety of great music.
I trained as a Montessori Guide
for children 3-6 years.
Even before my Montessori training,
I never allowed anyone to sing the traditional "ABC Song"
around my daughter because
I didn't see the value in saying
A,B,C, D.... A Montessori Guide teaches the sounds the letters make
not the names. Letter names
will not help you read!
In the same way Simply Music
allows us to teach the sounds
the Piano makes before putting
a symbol with it!
As a trained Montessori Guide, the Simply Music method "fits" so completely with everything I believe. I wanted to share with others. I hope you will allow me to teach you and your (child) children your other first language... Music!
