| What is Sibelius? What is Scorch?
| | Sibelius is one of the world's best-selling music notation software packages for Mac/Windows. It helps you write, play, scan, edit and print scores, and even publish them on the Internet.
Scorch is the free software which lets you view, play, customise and print Sibelius scores on the Internet, all from within your favorite browser. (You don't need Sibelius yourself.)
| - Scorch makes scores interactive - play, turn pages, transpose, change instruments and print
- Scores automatically download in moments
- Realistic MIDI playback with expression, stereo and reverb
- Works seamlessly within a web page

| | Why can't I see any music on the site?
| | You need to download Scorch, our sheet music viewing software, and install it on your computer.
If you still can't see the music, uninstall Scorch, restart your computer, and then re-install again.
If you have more than one browser (e.g. Internet Explorer and Netscape) on your computer, you may have to install it in each one's plugin folder individually.
| | Why can I only see the first page of the music?
| | We show you the first page of any piece of music so that you can be assured that the piece you're buying is indeed the piece you want. However, all pages after the first require you to buy that piece and print it out. Once you purchase a piece of sheet music, you will be able to view all of the pages, play back all of the music and adjust the tempo. This means you can now see how a purchased sheet will transpose before you print it. You can even use the online Scorch file as an aid for learning to play the song.
| | Why can I only hear the first 30 seconds of the piece?
| | Due to copyright restrictions, we are only allowed to play the first 30 seconds of any copyrighted piece of music.
| | If I can't find it, does that mean you don't have it?
| | No. Try using different search terms.
If you still can't find it, just email info@simplymusic.com. If we have it , we'll tell you how to find it; if we do not, we will endeavour to find it for you.
| | Why hasn't my music printed properly?
| | Have a look at the Printing Problems page.
| | Why do I lose transpositions I make in the piece when I move off the page?
| | Transpositions will not persist past the page on which they were made. That is because a transposition takes place solely within the Scorch software and each Scorch file is read-only. Thus, no changes will ever remain after the Scorch file has been unloaded from the page. If you transpose a piece while first viewing it, then decide to buy it, when you come back to the piece of music to print it, you must redo your transposition.
