To install Scorch, first make sure you meet the System Requirements set out below:

Scorch Installation for Internet Explorer
|
Please go to Sibelius.com first.
|
| Choose your platform (Windows in this case).
|
| | Choose your download location (HTTP1 and HTTP2 are the best choices).
|
| | Downloading and installing the file:
| - When the download begins, you will be asked whether or not to save it to disk: choose Save (Internet Explorer 6) or Save file to disk (IE 4.x and 5.x) and click OK.
- You will be prompted where to save the file: we recommend saving it to your Desktop.
- When the download is complete, close all your web browser windows and double-click the InstallScorch icon on your desktop to install the plug-in.
| - After installing the plug-in, you can delete the InstallScorch icon if you like.
- We suggest that you restart your computer after running the installer.

| - Save InstallScorch.exe to your desktop.
| Please Note: If you do not have pop-ups enabled for Sibelius.com, follow the instructions in the first paragraph where it states, "Your download of Scorch for Windows (English) should begin automatically in a few seconds." The download is 1.7Mb. If nothing happens, click here to start the download.
| - Once the InstallScorch.exe has been saved to your desktop, close all your web browser windows and double-click the InstallScorch icon on your desktop to install the plug-in.
| - First click the Manually Choose Browser Directory box before pressing the first Next button. Then during the install (after you agree to the Sibelius Scorch License Agreement) you will see the following message:
| The installer could not find your web browser. Please locate the plugins folder for your web browser. This is usually the plugins subfolder of the folder containing your browser program.
| - In the dialog box the C:\ drive will be open and you can then scroll down and double-click on:

| | | | - If you had any browser windows open, please close them all and restart Mozilla Firefox.

| - Your download of Scorch plug-in for Mac (English version) should begin automatically in a few seconds. The download is 3.6Mb. If nothing happens, click here to start the download.
| - In the Sibelius Scorch volume, double-click the InstallScorch icon and follow the instructions on-screen to install the plug-in.
| - You are advised to restart your computer after running the installer. Please return to this page after you have restarted.

Scorch Installation for Mac OS9
|
Please go to Sibelius.com first.
|
Scorch for Mac is 'carbonized', which means that it requires a 'carbonized' browser to run on Mac OS 9.2. It will not run under Internet Explorer or Netscape, as these browsers are not available as 'carbonized' applications.
Scorch on Mac OS 9.2 therefore requires that you use the Opera web browser, and have the latest version of the CarbonLib system extension installed.
